Canada has a variety of large cities distributed across the country; one noteworthy commonalty is that everyone can be found within 100 miles of the America border.
1.) Toronto

Facts:
Toronto was originally called "York." The name Toronto comes from the Iroquois language.
Toronto is Canada's largest city.
2.) Montreal
Date founded: 1642
Province located in: Quebec
Population: 3.8 (2011)
Majority religion: Catholic
Facts:
Montreal is by far Quebec's largest city.
The name Montreal means "Mount Royal"
3.) Vancouver
Date founded: 1886
Province located in: British Columbia
Population: 2.3 (2011)
Majority religion: As of 2011 most people who live in Vancouver state they have "no religion".
Other facts:
Vancouver is Canada's largest western city.
Vancouver is not the provincial capital of British Columbia.
Vancouver is not located to the east of Vancouver island and not on it.
4.) Ottawa

Population: 1.2 million (2011)
Majority religion: Catholic
Other facts:
Ottawa is the capital of Canada.
Relative to other capital cities it has a small population.
Ottawa is the only major city which is trans-provincial (spanning both Ontario and Quebec.)
